The glacier copy ep is out now. It's a 5-song debut and it's a calling card and sort of a demo (because I really don't know how this thing is going to shape up). It's some ideas that survived the Great Uncertanties of the early 2020s. There was the hoarding and then there was the compulsive decluttering. I'll probably expand on what I mean by that later on. Gosh though, I'm happy to just move onto the next thing!
And eventhough it's super nice to check the box and move onto new music, I'm also finding it pretty rewarding to export loops, sections, sounds from these songs and perform and rework them on hardware. At this point it's as live as I'm willing to get. Throughout January I participated in JAMuary over there on Instagram. I used the glacier copy ep as a foundation and built short, off the cuff, "live" jams from them. Most times these clips veered far away from the source material. Every day was a compact, contained experiment. Would recommend.
I got into the social aspect of it all. Browsing #jamuary was sort of like walking around a house where every room had some solitary beat-making rando/new friend rearranging their lives around putting together a 1 and a half minute clip to push out into the world, wake up and do it again the next day for a month straight. I'm always impressed by how many super talented people there are when I take the time to explore.
So what happens next? Well, I want to release another EP before the summer, that's for sure. I have a collaboration going that I'm really excited about, that's also for sure. There are finished songs and it's beyond the taking-shape phase. News on that sooner than later.
