In an attempt to keep myself on track with regular releases I'm going ahead and announce the next EP eventhough I only have one song finished (yolo). But I'm surrounded by fragments which will become songs, more than ever actually. So, the hand of sandal EP will be out this spring (or summer). It'll be 5 songs and you better believe it's following the formula I've set up.

What formula? Oh it's a set of rules I've put into place in hopes to keep me on track. If the BPM has to be 123 then there's no need to mess around with wondering if a slower or faster song would make sense. If I've already curated a drum kit of 10-12 hits then I don't need to listen to 45 kicks. If the shortlist of plugins wasn't short this stuff would take forever. I have a folder with 5 flavors of hiss. This is tape noise, static, etc of different varieties. I only need 5 of these. You might need more and that's something we're all going to have to work through ourselves on our own time.

Other than that I've completed a remix for 59 Perlen which will be coming out on his remix album in early May. You can read about that in this post on his site. It was a contest that I treated as a way to stay productive. I could really care less about if it won or got last place. (I didn't win) I really enjoy doing remixes and hope to get the chance to do lots more. Very cool of him for including all of the entries on the release!
